Check for Updates?

Check for Updates?

Postby pyst7lot » Fri Jun 28, 2024 3:10 pm

I get this done automatically when there are updates available but I've never taken notice of what they are and I probably wouldn't have a clue about what they do. I'm guessing they just make the software run a bit more efficiently. Anyone want to enlighten me about them? :)

Check updates could be almost anything from OS/Java updates, lotto databases, plugins or bug fixes, only stan knows for sure. I will admit though, it would be nice to have an update list(current version only) on the site somewhere. That way you can see what was fixed/added before the next major version.

Hi Stan,

I agree with the users comments in the last two posts, I believe as paying members and subscribers to EL5 that one would expect
that kind of information to be available, like every major software product there is disclosure of what bug fixes, application enhancements
and feature upgrades there are.

I don't think it is an unreasonable request that this is provided as there are many aspects to this for everyday users in knowing what an update
contains and why it has been applied.

As well I would like to see an updated revisional list of features, add-ins etc provided since the last Updated list had been communicated.

Once again I don't think this is an unreasonable request but a standard practice for any software users subscribe and pay for, we don't want to
be guessing what an update does as there are so elements to the product and much labor and time resource to test every aspect of the product.

Thanks Stan

:)
