Docking Issues - File Saving Complex Filters

Docking Issues - File Saving Complex Filters

Postby dreamweaver » Sun Jun 15, 2025 2:10 pm

Hi Stan,

I would like to bring to your attention an issue I am having with floating (2) Groups of Filters.

In my scenario I basically have created two Complex Filters
as per the Diagram below : "Floating Groups"

Floating Groups.png

- Complex Filter_1 is located in Group 1

- Complex Filter_2 is docked and located in Group 2 with the Winning Numbers Table

If I make a change to Complex Filter_2 and then attempt to save the changes by pressing the "save icon" located in the main menu taskbar the application changes focus and saves Complex Filter_1 and does not save the changes made in Complex_Filter_2.

This is noted by the "blue horizontal line" atop the Complex Filter_1 Tab as circled in red in the Diagram "Floating Groups"

The only way to successfully save the changes to Complex Filter_2 is to un-dock this filter and re-dock it into the Group 1 Docking.

This issue seems to be isolated to the newer verison of EL5 5.12 and does not happen in previous versions.

Can you try using 'Save all' button or a keyboard shortcut 'Ctrl+S'?

HI Stan,

Thank you for your reply...

Both of those methods you provided in saving a Complex Filter do work

However using the 'Save All' button will save your current working on a Complex Filter but you
have to be careful that if you choose this option that if you have other Complex Filters open
and have made changes to them and you have not tracked what you are doing then you might risk
losing work possibly.

Using the shortcut 'Ctrl+S' is a much safer option and only saves changes to the Complex Filter that
you are currently working on.

Thanks for suggesting these other options of saving.
