What is up with the 'online update' link

Today I purchased a new MacBook Pro and wanted to install Expert Lotto which I did. Then I wanted to work on the Euromillions lottery, so of course I created the new lottery. Except, the 'Online Update' of this lottery literally doesn't update all the draws (probably because of a poor link). Previously I solved this problem before by giving my own link to a website which has all the draw (1136 draws) and not just the 951 draws as this 'Online Update' option shows.
And look what happens when I go to add my own source for winning numbers? What is this nonsense and why does this exist?
Also, application updates for 1 year for 20 bucks?! Too pricey man.
