Increase memory used by Expert Lotto

Postby mindy20 » Sun Sep 09, 2018 9:32 pm

Hi all,

On my new macbook pro (16gb ram+512 GB sdd), I am unable to load the full Euromillions wheel (~139 million tickets). It says that the program doesn't have enough storage. How can I increase the storage available to this app?

Just for reference, on my 4gb ram, 256 gb memory macbook air, ExpertLotto never had any issues performing.

Thank you everyone! All the best to you all!

Mindy,

Go to this thread viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2175. It is the thread immediately above your current post.

I notice you refer to macbook type computers - I presume the method is the same as for a Windows type PC.

cheers

Hi,

I couldn't find the expertlotto.conf file, could you please guide me through it? I searched it in spotlight and didn't find any such file. Thanks.

Select the folder named Expertlotto. Within this folder you will find Folders named bin, etc, expertlotto and platform.

Open the etc folder and you will find the expertlotto.conf file.

Hi,

Thank you for guiding me. I found the .conf file and changed the Xms to Xmx2g.

Yet, when I try to run the full wheel for Euromillions (5 out of 50, 2 out of 12 type of draw), I get the following message :

There are too many tickets to show,
only the first 126,322,567 tickets will be visible.

------------

Just for your reference, a full Euromillions wheel is about 139 million tickets. Now normally, I never use the full wheel. But it is annoying me that I can't run the application to its full extent on my new Macbook. Thanks in advance for your input.

mindy

Euromillions not my game but why not play the 5 positions with their 50 numbers only with the two lucky stars set to 1 and 1 which gives about 2.118m tickets to forage thorough, and then look to using EL5 to playing just the two lucky stars independent of the main balls. Some task trying to filter 139m tickets even with EL5 I would think.

Actually, that's exactly what I do :) I choose not 12 but 2 bonus balls.

But having purchased a new Macbook, I just wanted to test the limits of my machine :D

That's just the limitation of the UI widget listing the Package tickets. When applying filters or stats all Package tickets will be processed though.
