Multiple "What if?"

Multiple "What if?"

Postby smokers » Tue Jul 11, 2017 1:22 pm

Hello all,

it is possible to have more than one "What if?" in the app? I would like to make have some estimates based on max what if and min what if.

if not ... would it be possible to implement this in future versions?

You mean being able to select two or more sets of numbers to show what would happen if such numbers hit in the upcoming draws?
That would be quite difficult to implement. Many pieces of the application expect just one what-if draw to exist...

Hi Stan,
Yes, you described it perfectly. As for the constraint that many other functionalities expect only 1 what if, then one solution is to select what is the main "What If" scenario from a table of what if combination, but all other would be also represented in graphs/simulation with some color.
At least if this is not possible, then the simplest option would be to have the multiple what if combinations, BUT the user would be able to select one of the multiple what if table. I think this second option is less intrusive than the first.

This can be done quite easily. Follow these steps:

Go to Package, then Insert, then Tickets. Then add in tickets with the numbers you want as What ifs.

The run a simulation using only this package.
Open My Estimates window and select the levels you wish to employ
Then go to the top where it says set ranges in all levels and click on that, then select simulation summary.

You can do this with any package of tickets.

Furthermore you can look at the properties of the what if package in Package, Show As, Properties and selecting which properties you are interested in. You can also analyse your what if package using statistics.

Yes, Ticket Properties windows is pretty much the same as multiple What-if options.
On the other hand the advantage of What-if toolbar is that you can see e.g. in statistical charts how the next point would jump 'if' those numbers came up in the next draw.
