History Sums Guide

History Sums Guide

Postby tdnl46w » Sun Aug 25, 2024 8:59 am

This is a short guide that gives a basic summary and strategy for the History Sums. The guide uses the Expert Lotto 6/49 Demo Lottery, which can be setup online from the main menu; Tools-> Lottery-> Create New... and in the list select "Expert Lotto 6/49 | Demo Lottery". Once it is setup, you will need to insert a Full Wheel(13,983,816 combinations). Package-> Insert-> Full Wheel…,combinations of[6] numbers from a pool of [49] numbers, Interval:[1]. Then click on the “Insert” button.

To follow the steps in the guide, configure each of the windows options as shown in the image. You can use your own preferences for window sizes and locations etc.

1. Setup the What If feature toolbar; View-> Toolbars-> What If. Then click on the question mark icon to enable the feature.
This step uses the What If feature to simulate a future winning draw that has not been drawn yet. It's purpose is to be able to analyze what a future draw's statistics and/or properties would be in comparison to other features. It does not affect or get saved to the winning number database. In this guide, the What If feature is used to track a ticket with the numbers 03,07,12,24,32,47 [10] through each step to see how it can be filtered to be a jackpot winning ticket.

2. Open the Latest History tab using; Main menu-> History-> Latest, and with Number History button highlighted, set it to; Show as: History Only.
This step describes what the History values are.

3. This step gives a basic description of what happens when the What If feature is enabled and how a History value is calculated for each Level.

4. Open the Summary History tab window using; Main menu -> History -> Summary, and with Sums button highlighted, set the display to; Show as: History Only.
This step shows the History Sums for each winning draw including the What If draw. The What If draw shows up as the latest draw in this window, because it is a pretend/simulated next latest draw. So if the What If draw were to actually be drawn next, then it’s History Sums would be 362, 758, and 1191. In the following three steps, the Charts button is used to enter History Sums that are -10 & +10 of the What If ticket’s History Sums. This will give a total range of 20 for each Level.

5., 6., & 7. In the Summary History window, now click on the Charts button and set the display to; “Show: Sums“. In these charts, you switch to each Level(0, 1, & 2), and enter the ranges shown using the chart slider icon option.

8. Open the My Estimates tab window using; Main menu-> History-> My Estimates. The My Estimates window is a specialized feature where you can setup estimates for sum ranges from several other history features. For this guide, only the “Sums Chart” option is used from the drop down menu.

9. This step shows how to open a Sums History filter directly from the My Estimates tab window with all the Levels and range settings applied.

10. In this step, the [Preview] button is used to show what count/percentage of tickets will be filtered from the package. The preview shows that 95% of the tickets are rejected, and 5% are accepted. The What If ticket is guaranteed to be in the remaining 5% accepted. This is because if you look back at steps 5, 6, & 7,...the simulated winning ticket of 03,07,12,24,32,47 [10](What If ticket) has History Sums that are all within the sum range of 20 setup for each Level. If you click on the [OK] button in step 10, it will filter the Package down to 763,685 tickets. Then to check if the simulated winning ticket is in the package, click within the Package tab window, then; Main Menu-> Edit-> Find... and enter the ticket numbers 03,07,12,24,32,47 [10]. Then click on the [Find] button.

In summary,...if you can correctly estimate a History Sum range of 20 for just three Levels, you can eliminate a large percentage of the Package tickets. 8)

The basic strategy behind the History Sums is to analyze how the pool numbers are being drawn with relation to their past frequency. For instance. In Level [0], if the History Sum is higher in the next draw, it usually means there were lower history values drawn. In Level [0], if the History Sum is lower in the next draw, it usually means there were higher history values drawn. The reason for this is, when a ticket number is drawn next, its new history value will be 1.

So one question would be, how do you know if the History Sum is going to be higher or lower(?). This largely depends on the history or strategy used to analyze, but there is an easy way to identify trends by using the "Simulation" feature;...

- In the Summary History tab, click on the [Simulation] button.
- In the same window click on the play icon button (▶)
- Then in the 'Simulation Draws" pop up window, click on the [Run Simulation] button, and it will update the simulation window.
- Now at the top of the simulation window look for the "Trend "column.

If the "Trend" column shows an "Increase" in Level [0], then it means, when compared to the "Latest" column History Sum for Level [0], there are more tickets in the package with higher sums then lower sums(and visa versa for "Decrease" etc.). So according to the trend, it would be better to select higher History Sums in Level [0] to filter.

Note: In this guide only the History Sums are used and displayed. But in the Summary History tab and My Estimates tab there are also options to choose History Differences(e.g. Show as: Difference Only, or Differences). A "History Difference" is the difference between a previous draw's History Sum. So it is user preference on which option to use in a strategy or filter. The Segmentation and Number Differences features are slightly different for number history and are commonly referred to as "Number Intervals", "Skips", "Gaps", or "Outs" (etc.) in other lotto software, so those will have to be left for a separate guide.

The history features can be complicated at first, so feel free to comment or ask any questions about the guide. I will also continue to edit/update the guide as needed. :)

Thank you very much for taking the time to create and share this strategy. I have been studying it and reaching a reduction of 95% is impressive,
even though the playable combinations are still high, but it could be adjusted more and more.
I have only been understanding all the possibilities that the Expert Lotto offers for about 3 weeks.
Greetings tdnl46w and thank you!

Hi rol24. Thanks.

The guide is just an example of how well the History Sums can reduce tickets. But if the playable tickets are still to high using the guide's strategy, you can add a simple filter such as 'Match Numbers' and pick one ticket number in that filter to accept. This can reduce the accepted tickets again by as much as 85% more. :)

Thank you very much, I will continue trying to understand everything that "Sum History"
can offer to reduce combinations effectively.
