Match Winning Numbers

Hi tdnl46w,

Thanks for your reply...I would like to be in a situation where this issue has been sorted out but that is not the case I would think..lol.

You mentioned that one of the actual draws was a 2+1 number match and not a 2 number match which is somewhat correct but
the Filter design only applies a match condition of "2" the other match conditions in this filter are all unchecked.

There is I believe still a major flaw in this filter when you apply it in Powerball type lottery where the Bonus PowerBall is drawn from
a separate pool of numbers. This means you have to be aware that in the Package that you insert does not contain or matches one of
the Bonus Numbers that may be against any one of the draw dates that are in your Date Selection Range. I am not sure if you are
still aware of this issue or situation and if you have multiple Selection Date Ranges in different Filter Groups that you might start to
run out of "viable" PowerBall numbers not to include in your Package insert..

I am more than happy to further illustrate this issue with more examples

If I'm understanding this correctly, would check marking both 2 and 2+1 for the match condition work?

You can have either or both of them checked, it still does not make a difference in trying to get the correct result, it is still an issue..

Can I suggest you might like to create a PowerBall Australian lotto game in EL5 and undertake the same exercise I am doing, I am more
than happy to send you the Filter that I have created to do some testing..

Other than that I think if you could Stan have a look at this filter and see if there is something going on within this filter that is causing
this issue under a PowerBall lottery format where the Bonus Powerball is drawn from a separate pool of numbers.

Hi dreamweaver.

I have the Ausralian PowerBall lotto setup and have run the following filters;

Match Winning Numbers:Accept
- Winning Numbers: 6 draws from Jan 6, 2022 to Feb 10, 2022.
- Match: 2 (checked) with Min: 3 Max: 3 (3 tickets must have 2 matching numbers).
- Insert Full Wheel Package of 134,490,400 tickets.
- Click Run...

Selected past draw range dates are;
Feb 10, 2022 3,5,16,19,26,31,32,[6]
Feb 3, 2022 11,16,18,21,22,26,31,[8] <- 2 match, no bonus
Jan 27, 2022 4,10,15,25,27,28,32,[18]
Jan 20, 2022 11,14,25,26,31,34,35,[1] <- 2 match, no bonus
Jan 13, 2022 2,9,13,24,28,29,33,[13] <- 2 match, no bonus
Jan 6, 2022 5,15,20,27,28,29,34,[8]

When the filter is Run, the ticket 2,7,9,10,22,31,35 [19] is accepted, because the filter can match 3 of the selected past draws without the bonus.
---------------
Match Winning Numbers:Accept
- Winning Numbers: 6 draws from Jan 6, 2022 to Feb 10, 2022.
- Match: 2 (checked) with Min: 3 Max: 3 (3 tickets must have 2 matching numbers).
- Insert Partial Wheel Package of 6,724,520(all tickets with the bonus number [1]).
- Click Run...

Selected past draw range dates are;
Feb 10, 2022 3,5,16,19,26,31,32,[6]
Feb 3, 2022 11,16,18,21,22,26,31,[8] <- 2 match, no bonus
Jan 27, 2022 4,10,15,25,27,28,32,[18]
Jan 20, 2022 11,14,25,26,31,34,35,[1] <- 2 match, 1 bonus(2+1 match)
Jan 13, 2022 2,9,13,24,28,29,33,[13] <- 2 match, no bonus
Jan 6, 2022 5,15,20,27,28,29,34,[8]

When the filter is Run, the ticket 2,7,9,10,22,31,35 [19] is rejected, because the filter can only match 2 of the selected past draws, as the ticket 11,14,25,26,31,34,35,[1] can now only have a 2+1 match from the package. So the filter condition fails.

From the above filter descriptions, can you explain the issue that is getting the wrong results?

The first scenario you had run will always pass if the winning ticket is in your filtered package no matter what Powerball Bonus number is in the Jackpot Prize and no matter what match condition you have checked eg : "2" or "2+1"

In the second scenario under a partial wheel package insert with any single default powerball number selected between 1 and 20 can create a situation where a ticket that has at least (7) of the target draw winning numbers can be eliminated simply by having one of the powerball numbers present in one of the past selection draw dates matching the single powerball number selected when a partial package was inserted.

This is an issue in regards to winning a Divisional 2 prize in this Powerball lottery game where you only have to match (7) numbers and not the Powerball.....

In the filter's match "2" condition, a full wheel does have the 7 main numbers pass, but only if the powerball is not the same, as that would be a match "2+1" condition. This issue can't be avoided in this filter because the poweball is part of the wheel. To workaround the issue, you would have to setup this lotto the same as the EL demo 6/49 lotto, setup a powerball that isn't in the lotto, or remove the powerball specifically from the winning numbers database(etc.).

Hi tdnl46w,

Once again thank you for your response.. That is exactly what I have done.. I simply created a separate Lottery Format that does not include a Bonus Powerball Number,
and I guess problem gone.

Thanks for your continued responses to this issue.
