Match Winning Numbers

Postby Andrew Warren » Wed Jun 15, 2022 7:20 pm

I cannot get this filter to work and notice there is now additional columns (Min and Max) that are not covered in the manual. What ever combination I try the Maths does not seem to work.

I would like to get the ticket package to reject any ticket that has 2, 3 , 4 or 5 of the numbers that also appeared in the last 20 winning games

Example last 5 Winning Game Numbers:
10-Jun-2022 19 25 31 32 42
11-Jun-2022 18 33 38 41 42
12-Jun-2022 2 6 10 22 26
13-Jun-2022 15 19 20 25 29
14-Jun-2022 3 10 16 17 35

Ticket Package
1 4 10 23 35 Reject as has 10 and 35
1 6 10 23 35 Reject as has 6 and 10
1 8 10 23 35 Reject as has 10 and 35
1 10 11 23 35 Reject as has 10 and 35
1 10 23 31 35 Reject as has 10 and 35
2 4 6 8 10 Reject as has 2 and 6 and 10
2 4 6 8 31 Reject as has 2 and 6
2 4 6 10 11 Reject as has 2 and 6
2 4 6 10 23 Reject as has 2 and 6
2 4 6 10 31 Reject as has 2 and 6
2 4 6 10 35 Reject as has 2 and 6
2 4 8 10 31 Accept as only has one number (10)
7 9 12 26 34 Accept as only has one number (26)
7 9 13 27 40 Accept as no numbers from winning numbers

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks

The filter setup should be;...'Match Winning Numbers' filter, Winning Numbers: 20 latest draws, Match 2,3,4,5 [Reject]. This will reject any Package tickets that match in 2,3,4,5 numbers from the 20 latest draws. If this doesn't work, can you give an example of your filter setup? The Match Winning Numbers filter Min/Max fields are for setting how many tickets can match from the selected draws. For example. Winning Numbers: 20 latest draws, Match 2, Min:6 Max:10. If 6 to 10 tickets in 20 draws match 2 numbers, then accept/reject the ticket.

When you Run an individual filter in a complex filter, it ignores the filter's Accept/Reject setting and uses the Run tab windows Accept/Reject setting instead. This seems counter intuitive for that feature, but it may have been setup this way to avoid conflicts where accepting then rejecting the same tickets would result in zero tickets(stan could maybe explain this more). If however you run a group or the complex filter as a whole, then it will apply the accept/reject conditions of the sub-filters as normal. So when using the Run command to see an individual filter's accepted or rejected tickets from a complex filter, you also have to set the Run tab window to the same accept/reject condition. If you need more information, let me know.

Hi tdnl46w
You are spot on the money, I just wish I had known this a few weeks ago as too many hours have been spent trying to understand why the maths logic did not work. So pleased that now everything thing works as should. (wish this had been mentioned in the manual !!!) Thanks once again. Be lucky :D

Hi tdnl46w,

I am not sure if other users are experiencing the same issue I am having but there seems to be an issue with the Match Winning Numbers Filter and the accuracy of the results.

I am playing the Australian PowerBall lotto game Main 7/35 and Powerball 1/20.

I have constructed a Complex Filter as follows based on a particular Draw selection and Match Winning Numbers configuration:

1. Draw to be analysed : 23rd June 2022 (23/6/22)

Draw Target.JPG

2. Draw Selection: Date Range : 06/01/2022 - 10/02/2022 ( 6 Draws )

Draw Dates.JPG

3. Complex Filter Design:

As you can see from the image below of the Complex Filter the 'Match Winning Number's Filter" settings are configured as follows:

Winning Numbers: Draws 06/01/22 - 10/2/22, Match 2, Min 3 Max 3

Hi All,

This is a continuation of the previous thread as there is a limit of 3 attachments per thread

4. To verify the integrity of the the filter configuration a Backtest shows that this filter when run will pass
the Target Draw date of 23/6/22 as per image below:

BackTest Result.JPG

Therefore when I run this filter I should retaining the Winning jackpot Line for the Target Date : 23/6/2022
BUT.. that is not the outcome I get when I do a 'Check Package Winnings' as per the image below: As you can see
the Divisional Prize for 7 Numbers is not there

Check Package Winnings_Result.JPG

5. To further validate the integrity of this filter design as per the image below I have
captured an image of the Winning Numbers Table and marked in the lines that have
(2) winning numbers and the number of times that there are (2) winning numbers
present within the selection date range of 6/1/22 - 10/2/22. In this example
there are (3) instances of Match (2) hits.

Dates Analysed_2.JPG

As you can see there seems to be an operational issue with this Filter or I have configured it incorrectly.

Hi dreamweaver.

The ticket -> 2,7,9,10,22,31,35 [19] should pass. Unless you have a partial package wheel or a cut-off draw date is enabled(" * All 218 draws " <- has an asterisk indicating a partial listing)?

Hi tdnl46w,

Thanks for your response, yes you are correct the Draw ticket for 23/6/2022 : 2:7:9:10:31:35 should pass.. but doesn't

There is no cut-off draw date applied as you had mentioned. no partial listing

I am not sure where to take it from here but quiet possibly there is a bug with this Filter

Hi tdnl46w,

I thought I would mentioned that the Selection of Dates within this Filter is based on actual date references
6/1/22 - 10/2/22 rather than Draw positions or Range selections eg: Draws 25 to Draw 30. Therefore when you run the
filter it should not matter if there is a cut-off date selected or not.

Is it just that ticket or are other tickets results wrong? I tested the filter setup using the EL Demo 6/49 lotto and it is working there. Can you test the filter in another lotto setup?

Hi,

I tested it in 6/49 demo lottery and it is working there, as well another lottery real draw Australian OZ Lotto and it works there fine as well..

I did have another colleague friend who perform the same filter setup and design for the Australian PowerBall and they experience the same issue
I have as well.. So not sure if it is PB related or there is something else we are missing

Hi tdnl46w or Stan,

Can I ask do either of you know where the Match List for the Match Winning Numbers is sourced from to populate the Hit count settings.
I am asking this as the source file for these counts might be corrupted eg:
Match 2 might actually be for different Match count other than 2

Hi All,

I think I have managed to find out why I am getting this issue with the
Match Winning Numbers Filter.

1. The Match Winning Numbers filter will work with lottery game formats where the main and bonus numbers are drawn from the same draw pool of numbers

2. It seems that lottery games such as Powerball where the Bonus number is drawn
from a SEPARATE pool of numbers that this issue will occur

3. What seems to happen is that the Bonus Draw numbers of any of the Past Draws which are part of your Selection Date Range is the same and appears in any of the Bonus Draw numbers in the lines in your filtered package then this cause a failure in your run of the Complex Filter using the Match Winning Numbers Filter.

Referring to my previous example where I have created a Complex Filter
using the Match Winning Numbers Filter.

From the image below of the Winning Numbers Table with the dates
6/1/22 - 10/2/22 highlighted you will see that Draw 20/1/2022 had a
Powerball of number "1".

Dates Analysed_2.JPG

When I insert a FULL Package I select all Main Numbers but also only choose to select number "1" from the secondary pool of Bonus Numbers (1 to 20) as inserting all Bonus Numbers will create a FULL Package size of 134,490,400 lines instead of a Package size of 6,724,520. I choose to do it this way as I do not include the Bonus Number in my analysis and have other methods of working out what Bonus Numbers to use for a Lottery entry.

This anomaly will also happen no matter what Bonus Number is selected when you insert a FULL Package. If for example I selected number "8" as my only Bonus Number when doing an insert then Draw 20/01/2022 will now allow whatever Target Draw I am analysing against to pass and Draw 06/01/2022 will cause a fail of the Target Draw that is being analysed as Draw 06/01/2022 has a Bonus Number of "8"

Hi dreamweaver.

Glad you got it sorted out. It looks like one of the selected past draws matches was actually a 2+1 number match and not a 2 number match, and the analyzed ticket's filter condition failed.
