EL 5 identifies the CPU incorrectly

EL 5 identifies the CPU incorrectly

Postby Jerzy » Tue Dec 21, 2010 5:09 am

Stan,

My EL5 installation , in Help--> About, reports that the System is Windows 7 version 6.1 running on AMD64: en_AU (expertlotto).

I do not use any AMD CPUs. I am running 64 - bit Windows 7 on Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 870 @2.93 GHz.

I do not know whether it has any practical significance. I do not see other problems. It seems that the latest EL5 works normally.

java doesn't recognize the exact processor make and type, it just says whether the processor is built on 32-bit or 64-bit architecture
