Is it possible to create the following filter:

A B C D E F
01 17 33 02 18 34
03 19 35 04 20 36
05 21 37 06 22 38
07 23 39 08 24 40
09 25 41 10 26 42
11 27 43 12 28 44
13 29 45 14 30 46
15 31 47 16 32 48
49

Stats show that from the repective groups that
A has 0-4 hits
B has 0-4 hits
C has 0-3 hits
D has 0-4 hits
E has 0-4 hits
F has 0-3 hits
and collectively there is usually between 3-5 groups

I can get the first part right, but I am batteling with the groups

It is very easy. Use the Match Numbers filter.

Open the Match Numbers filter, enter the group A numbers, enter the checkboxes for Match 0, Match 1, Match 2, Match 3, Match 4, click Leave, click OK.

Similarly filter the remaining groups of numbers, but for the group C and F select only the checkboxes from Match 0 to Match 3.

You can also build a compact filter using the Match Numbers filter for as many groups as you need, with the settings of your choice, if you want to use the same groups with the same settings many times.

you may create a filters statistics

1. create a compound filter for jerzy suggestion
2. put the compound filters in statistics

btw doing this i though it would track statistics for

A has 0-4 hits
B has 0-4 hits
C has 0-3 hits
D has 0-4 hits
E has 0-4 hits
F has 0-3 hits

Thanks Gents, the problem I have is that in the filter I only need matches of 3 - 5 groups eg.

a,b,c
a,b,c,d etc.

I creted the filter based on your info but it creates every possible sequence to get to 6 numbers, I need to filter out those that do not fall withing the 3 - 5 groups

What I am trying to do differently is that the winning numbers always has between 3 and 5 groups so all possible combinations with A,B,C,D,E,F is as follows:

It seems to me that you probably want to play with several groups of randomly selected numbers. Maybe you should wheel these groups of numbers. Or maybe you could use some ideas that Bobijohn presented to us not long ago.

There is also Number Groups filter where you can customise the groups. If your groups are consistent with decades, there will be usually from 3 to 5 number groups in a combination for a pick 6 lottery. But probably you will not be happy with this filter as the numbers need to be arranged in groups of consecutive numbers, not random numbers.

In the current version of the Number Groups Filter the customisation is limited. The customised groups must contain all numbers within a required range not some of the numbers that you want. So, for example, in your first group there would be all possible numbers from 1 to 15.

To allow customisation for any group of numbers, including random groups of numbers, the filter needs to be re-programmed or upgraded.

I believe upgrading the Number Groups Filter or enhancing the customisation would make this filter more versatile and more powerful. Very good idea.

But only Stan can do it.

i think such filter can be created as a group filter of several 'match numbers' filters with condition '3-5 sub filters must pass'

Use filter match file.Make a text file with 1000 lines and select match 0 .match 1, match 2 ,match 3.
If lines have different lengths ,select alow variable combination size .If you want to pass between 997 and 1000 ,
select min 997 max 1000.If you want to pass all select min 1000 max 1000 each of match 0 , match 1, match 2 ,match 3 .

This could be done in Number Groups, Discrete Numbers. You say (All 6 numbers will appear in 3-5 rows of the 7) and (All 6 numbers will appear in 3-5 columns of the 7). You would set this up in complex filters and have 2 number groups filters set to discrete numbers, 1 group would be your columns and 1 group would be your rows. You would have 7 groups per number group filter and now the thing that we need to know is how many numbers you expect from each of the 7 groups? Example group 1 Numbers in group min ? max? We know that ticket must fall into 3 to 5 groups.
