Hi Joe,

I've attached the file with 50 lines. I know that each line in this file matches the winning number in 1,2 or 3 numbers. So I would like to filter the complete set of tickets 880,000 for the UK daily play to leave only tickets that match each of these 50 lines in 1,2 or 3 numbers.

It works very well using match numbers filter, but I just need it to work using match file filter because this is alot easier.

thanks alot for your help
i tried your file and all tickets are indeed filtered out. how does your condition for 'match numbers' filter look like? there might be some misunderstanding of what you actually want to achieve. i'm not sure there are any tickets that match all the lines from the filter file in *exactly* three numbers only.
yeah me too mis-understood how to work with match File filter.
but I am getting different set of combinations when I work with Match File filter and Match Numbers.
I created group filter with each lines in match Numbers-> Leave, and set min 15 to max 25 -->leave.
and when I do the same in match file filter-> Match 1 Min 15 and Max 25-> leave,
both giving different set of combinations. why?
Am I making any mistake?.
i don't know, i'll have to check it
i've checked it but didn't find any problems.

i have a file with three lines:
02,09,12,15,17,22,26
01,10,13,18,19,21,25
01,06,16,22,24,26,27

so filter match file (see above), match 3 option set, min value set to 3 is the same as a compound filter like this:
match numbers: 02,09,12,15,17,22,26, match 3
and
match numbers: 01,10,13,18,19,21,25, match 3
and
match numbers: 01,06,16,22,24,26,27, match 3

that means each filtered ticket must have *exactly* three numbers from each line in the filter file

in a similar fashion, filter match file (see above), match 3 option set, min value is not set is the same as a compound filter like this:
match numbers: 02,09,12,15,17,22,26, match 3
or
match numbers: 01,10,13,18,19,21,25, match 3
or
match numbers: 01,06,16,22,24,26,27, match 3

that means each filtered ticket must have *exactly* three numbers from any line in the filter file

Hi Stan,

thanks for explaining that in detail. I'll test it out and come back to you.

Hi Stan, Joe

I have now tested what Stan posted and I have to say it does not work for me. Maybe as Stan suggested there is a misunderstanding in what I am trying to do, so I will try and describe what I do with Match Numbers filter (which works perfect for me) and then Stan maybe you can describe how to do same thing in an easier way -

1. First using some strategies I have developed (I can describe these later), I end up with about 50 lines which I know that every single line will match the winning numbers in either 1,2, or 3 numbers, not more, not less. I do not know which will have 1, 2 or 3 numbers matching all I know is that it will not be match 0, 4 ,5 6, or 7

2. Next I take a printed list of these 50 lines and input the numbers in each one of the 50 lines, in the match numbers filter, and filter for match 1,2, or 3. (See attached file)

3. I do this for each of the 50 lines, it takes me about 45 minutes, and reduces the full package from 880,000 lines to between 10,000 and 30,000 lines. These remaining lines will contain the jackpot ticket

So Stan, how do I do this using the match file filter?

thanks,
Sliver

hi,

Can you use "Remove" option and select 0,4,5,6, and 7?, what will remain in the package should be 1,2, and 3.

Another idea is load your package, go to Statistic -> Ticket Numbers -> (select your numbers and click on) Filter -> At least 1 to 3 in each ticket.

Second option should do the trick.

Good lucks,

I didnt check my matrix for whole package, bcoz its very slow,
I hope its working fine except Match 0. But still have to check it with my matrix.
And I have converted all your match numbers to group filters.
jus modify the names of group filters (Sliver0 is for Match 6 Numbers alone, Sliver1 is for Match 5 Numbers and ... Sliver6 is for Match 0 ).

this works more faster. I hope this helps you.

Thanks for your help all,

Da80th - both your suggestions will work, I was just hoping there would be an easier way to get through 50 tickets

Joe - thanks for the filter but I can't get it to load, when I put it in my filters folder and startup EL, it opens up with a blank filter file, no group or compound filters defined. How can I open the file you sent me ?

Hi Joe,

I have downloaded it with the correct filename, and I put the file in the filters sub folder in the EL folder. Still does not come up.

I think I am using Java version 1.5.0

I have not seen any screens in EL like the one you posted above with compound and group filter tabs. Is that something you made?

sliver, this is the only way i can think of to filter your package

Another idea is load your package, go to Statistic -> Ticket Numbers -> (select your numbers and click on) Filter -> At least 1 to 3 in each ticket.

this wouldn't work because you'd still end up with some tickets that have four or more numbers from some lines in the match file.

Hi Stan

I have now installed the Compound/Group Filters plugin, but still not able to load Joe's filter file.

Do you think I have to upgrade to Java ver 1.6.0 ?

no, you don't need java upgrade.

joe's filters are for 6/49 lottery so they won't appear in your uk daily play
