I would like to try to develop some plugins/modules for version 5. Please point me towards the documentation for how to develop the plugin and with examples so I can see how they are constructed.

I don't know java but I know C/C++, maybe I can create some plugins too (in C++ and convert them to java or maybe it is working in C++ too, i think it will be possible).

I'm afraid that it would be quite difficult to write a plugin in C++ and then call it from Java runtime. There are tools to do that but the plugin API is too rich to make it practical...
