Best Strategies for 2nd Prize

Best Strategies for 2nd Prize

Postby Da80th » Fri Jul 04, 2008 8:46 pm

hi All,

I know EL was designed for winning 1st Prize with WNH filtering. But I am wodering if any one here interested in focusing on 2nd prize division?

Winning smaller prizes is exciting and keep us going while we waiting for hitting the Jackpot. And base on my two years experiences with EL, when using WNH filters such as Sum or Segment, you must get all the columns corrected to win the Jackpot, if you missed one or two columns then you likely to win some smaller prizes but there no guaranteed.

So is there any strategies that guaranteed 2nd prize using WNH filters?

One of my strategies for aiming for 2nd prize is instead of playing regular 5/39, I created a database for 3/39 (not counting the last two numbers drawn). therefor the odd now drop from original 1:575,757 to 1:9,139. If you manage to get only 1 ticket left from 9,319 then you basically have 3 key number to play, to get the 2nd prize you just using 3-key wheeling that guaranteed 2nd prize to wheel the rest of the remaining 36 numbers.

I hope I explaing well enough?

Any one here interested in this 2nd prize division strategies?

[/quote]Sure but, I never tried to develope one. Consider that in most 5/39 games the first and last position numbers, P1 being single digit numbers most of the draws and P5 being 30's range most of the drawings.

How about your best strategies for guaranteed 2nd prize using WNH filters?

Could you let us know your database in detail? Thanks.

Based on how EL works I'm finding the looking for a match 4 is like looking for a match 5, there is only a few possibilites and they get filtered out very easy.

To create this 3 number database, just export your winning numbers from EL, then create new game with 3/39 instead. Using import wizard, import your winning numbers to this 3/39 new game, but only select the first 3 winning numbers and ignore the p4 and p5 number.

The best solution and most powerful tool to this 2nd prize strategy is to add the option that allow the user to select any combinations of winning number within the original game for analyzing and filtering. Please see the attached image of what I am trying to explain.

For strategies, I am using the same filters (WNH Segment) to filter out the full package of 9,139. In mathematically view of point, working with 9,139 tickets is much easier than the original 575,575 package, however you going to find out that you still neeed to get all four to five columns right in Segment to zero in on the winning ticket that contain 3 winning numbers.

We have very smart people on this board so I am sure some one will cracked this 2nd prize strategy. We need Stan to add this option so everyone can easily work on this without creating new database.

If you still have questions just post it here.

Good lucks,

Excellent points :)

so we need to have the option to select p1, p2, and p3 and concentrade mostly number from 1 to 29 (occurs 90%), btw a full package contains 29 numbers = 3654 tickets.

Hi Da80th

Several years ago I investigated the possibility of capturing the second tier prize in my local pick 5/37 game. The best method I could come up with at the time was to use multiple overlapping abbreviated wheels. I published the results in the old LottoArhcitect Forum. Unfortunately, the post did not get transferred over to the new forum. However, I kept a copy of the original post and my responses to the follow-up posts by other members. Unfortunately I have no record of their posts.

Of particular interest was a post by “Hyperdimensionalâ€￾ who compared my results with his analysis using Covermaster. He concluded that by combining the three 50% abbreviated wheels as given in one of my examples there was a probability increase of 10.49% of hitting a at least one 4 out of 5 over that of using just one large abbreviated wheel.

Anyway, I thought you may find the approach interesting and have attached a zip file of my original post and everything else I have relevant to that post. I just wish I had kept copies of the other posters comments for you – specifically that of LottoArchitect and Hyperdimensional.

Good luck

Bobijohn

hi Bobijohn,

Thank You for sharing with us your experiences. I found your old post at this old link for anyone who like to read more about your finding:

http://www.forumforfree.com/forums/inde ... owtopic=94

From my experiences with wheeling, it still too hard to win since first you must select the right group of numbers to wheel, next it too expensive to play in the long run, consider here in CA the 2nd prize division win average of $500.

My strategies mainly focus on getting the first 3 KEY numbers correct, then you wheel the remaining 36 numbers (for 5/39 game) to guaranteed multiple 3rd and two 2nd prize wins.

For example, let analyze this two cases:

winning number for July 4th, 2008. All 3 key number correct 5 8 18

5 8 18 33 35

5 8 18 1 22 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 2 23 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 3 24 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 4 25 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 6 26 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 7 27 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 9 28 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 10 29 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 11 30 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 12 31 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 13 32 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 14 33 <-- 4/5
5 8 18 15 34 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 16 35 <-- 4/5
5 8 18 17 36 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 19 37 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 20 38 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 21 39 <-- 3/5

Now this time winning number for July 2nd, only 1 key corrected: 5

3 5 13 24 34

5 8 18 1 22
5 8 18 2 23
5 8 18 3 24 <-- 3/5
5 8 18 4 25
5 8 18 6 26
5 8 18 7 27
5 8 18 9 28
5 8 18 10 29
5 8 18 11 30
5 8 18 12 31
5 8 18 13 32
5 8 18 14 33
5 8 18 15 34
5 8 18 16 35
5 8 18 17 36
5 8 18 19 37
5 8 18 20 38
5 8 18 21 39

As you can see, if you manage to predicted ALL 3 key number right you will win two 2nd prize + sixteen 3rd prizes. Or with the right timing, you will win one Jackpot + multiple 3rd prizes.

Even with only 1 key number corrected you still win one 3rd prize.

Good lucks,

hi Padawan,

The current EL setting only allow the user to analyze all five winning number (e.g.5/39) and filter the tickets from the package. Now imagine you have the ability to anylze only p1, p2, and p3 of the winning number and filter base on this setting. For example, from the image attached in the previous post it show I only selected Contain Position 1, 2, and 3 of the last 100 draws to analyze, and base on this statistic I can filter just the p1, p2, and p3 of the package and leave the p4 and p5 alone.

Let for example you used all the current filters from EL and manage to get the full package down to around 5,000 tickets. Now you can do further filter by selecting only p1, p2, and p3 to analyze the SUM and do more filtering.

There are two lotto software on the market that allowed the user to do this, if you would like to check them out just give me a PM. I DO NOT recommended or endose any of these lotto software, I just love to see Stan add this option to allow EL users to take advantage of this tool to do more with EL.

In my opinion its the best tools to add to EL.

If you still have questions just let me know.

well, you can setup a new lottery with 3/xx settings and import winning numbers from the 5/xx lottery as posted above.
or you can create a new 5/xx lottery where only 3 numbers are bet. then you can load the package with any combination of 3 numbers from the winning 5 and analyze them in stats.

Hi, Stan:

I think Da80th's method which is to find 3 key #s should work for Pick-5.
Also, EL's sort statistics is to find some key #s first. So, I'm not sure if we can connect the both methods and implement them into EL program? Thanks.

Pick 3 1:100

Postby Da80th » Tue Jul 08, 2008 9:48 pm

If you play Pick 3 using EL you can use this strategy and reduce your odd from original 1:1000 to 1:100, that's 90% reducing!

Just create a new database for only 1st and 2nd digit, (or 2nd and 3rd digit). You can reduce the odd further to 1:64 if you manage to eliminate two last digit. For example, if you eliminate last digit 2 & 6, that mean you actually eliminating 2, 6, 12 and 16.

1 11
[s]2 12[/s]
3 13
4 14
5 15
[s]6 16[/s]
7 17
8 18
9 19
10 20

As for filtering the remaining 64 tickets, if you use the default setting for Segment @ 3/3 you will needed to use only the first 3 columns, or if you prefer default Segment like 3/7 (or similar) most often you only needed to work with the first two columns.

I wish more people give this strategy a chance because this is the best and probably the only way of reducing the lotto odd down 90% or more without using any filter.

Good lucks,
