Suggestion for EL

Suggestion for EL

Postby Alcymart » Tue Jul 15, 2008 12:42 am

I would like to make a suggestion for EL's Generator. When random combinations are generated, they come out ordered... it would be nice if we could get it to generate unordered combinations too?

By unordered I mean:
33,12,16,7,44,9

instead of 7,9,12,16,33,44

Are they not generated unordered at first?

New Filter

Postby Magico » Wed Jul 16, 2008 11:10 am

EL Lovers

Perhaps thats a good idea ?.

But I honestly need to say that EL needs a new filter a very Powerfull one.
Which was mentioned here some time back -- AC Value.

It,s practically a must for EL .
It will elliminate millions of unwanted tickets ,example at the moment the UK- 649 lottery best AC value stands at =8 and just using that value and from there implementing other filters such as Sums will cut down unwanted tickets to a few worthy playable lines !!!.

Stan you should look into this very Powerful Filter, its really worth it unless i,m not familliar with EL,s filters that can perhaps do that ?some help needed.

Joe has contributed the AC filter as a plugin for EL a while ago, you will find the thread and download here Magico: http://www.expertlotto.com/en/forum/for ... age=8#6505 :-)

it could but i'll create problems/bugs in other parts of the application where sorted numbers are expected. but if you insist i'll add a switch to turn sorting off - at your own risk though:)

Are they not generated unordered at first?

yes, the tickets are generated unordered and then sorted

Stan and Alcymart,

Using the combinations with randomly arranged (unsorted) numbers would create entirely different game, which would make a lot of existing filters, particularly positional filters, completely useless.

And because the package of possible tickets would be many times larger than the package with sorted numbers, processing such package would be much more demanding for the computer and for the user. Consequently, the processing time would be much longer, taking days or weeks.

An example for 6/45 game:

There could be 8,145,060 standard combinations with numbers arranged in ascending order in each combination.

But for the same game there could be 5,864,443,200 combinations, if the numbers in combinations are arranged randomly, in any possible order.

For 6/49 game the package of possible combinations with randomly arranged numbers would be much larger.

Maybe there is something to achieve by analysing the combinations with numbers arranged as they were drawn ( I do not know) but how can we work with packages of 5,864,443,200 or more combinations ?
