Serotic aka Matrix Wheels Tutorial

Postby Alcymart » Sun Aug 17, 2008 11:17 pm

First , a little History about Serotic Wheels sometimes referred to as Matrix wheels...

Many books have been written on ways to improve the odds or increase your chances of winning the lottery games. Mr. Robert Serotic is considered by many to be quite an expert having won 9 lottery jackpots between 1964 and 1984. Mr. Serotic is a scientist in the field of numbers, lotteries and pool playing systems analysts. Mr. Serotic and a colleague Mr. W. Kolb have won more than 30 jackpots between them and have collaborated for many years to achieve these amazing results. Mr. Serotic's talents have spread to writing articles for lottery publication in the United States and abroad as well as creating computer software programs for tracking and recording the mathematical and statistical data from Lottery results in America and Europe.

The odds against one wining a lottery Jackpot prize like Powerball are 145,000,000 to 1. Meaning you would need to purchase more than 145 million tickets with as many varied number combinations to be guaranteed a win of the Jackpot for that Date. What you need to know
instead is which numbers are drawn most often, which numbers are not and which winning combinations are being drawn over and over again. With this information and playing those numbers, you can greatly increase your chances of wining a prize in the lottery you propose to play.

Let me explain this strategy for improving the odds is to cover as many of those numbers as possible, like the method employed by a hunter when shooting game with a shot gun rather than a rifle. A rifle has only one bullet. But a shotgun shell will have multiple pellets to assure hitting the target more times. In lottery systems this strategy is called Wheeling the
numbers. Wheeling is a way to play multiple number combinations and cover a great deal more odds without necessarily spending a lot of money to cover the odds.

Matrix (Serotic) Wheels in Detail:

A matrix wheel will allow playing with MANY more numbers in much LESS combinations. These wheels can be used only with picking an even amount of numbers, and will consider each 2 numbers as one PAIR to be played with another 2 different PAIRS (to form 6 numbers draw). This
will guarantee a 6 from 6 prize (The Jackpot), in case the 3 required pairs are included among the list of actually playing pairs.

Matrix wheels (irrespective of the size) are created as PAIRS, TRIPLETS, QUADRUPLETS or QUINTUPLETS or Pentads in EL. The QUADRUPLETS and QUINTUPLETS are used in Keno type Systems while PAIRS and TRIPLETS are used in Pick 4, Pick 5, Pick 6 or Pick 7 type Systems.

Matrix wheels for PICK 4 games use 2 x 2 Matrix (2 + 2=4) in the System, irrespective of the Pool size.

If any two pairs out of say 15 pairs (as in a 30 Number pool of numbers) correctly match the 4 winning numbers, the System wins the JACKPOT!

Matrix Systems for PICK 5 games use 2 x 3 Matrix (2 + 3 =5) in the System, irrespective of the System size.
If any one pair and any one triplet out of XX pairs and triplets in that System correctly match the 5 winning numbers, the System wins the JACKPOT!

Matrix Systems for PICK 6 games can have 2 x 2 x 2 Matrix or 3 x 3 Matrix in the System, irrespective of the System size. If any three pairs or any two triplets out of XX pairs or XX triplets in that System correctly match the 6 winning numbers, the System wins the JACKPOT!

Now let's get on with it...

Here is an overview of Cost of tickets vs Cost of a Matrix Wheel at say $1 a ticket FOR A 6/49 Lottery where we can have a pool of 10 to 48 numbers.

We have the Pool of Numbers we can use...then the cost of buying tickets the conventional way and finally the cost of tickets using the Matrix.

Pool of Numbers Conventional Cost Matrix Cost
10 Number Pool--------$210--------------$10
12 Number Pool--------$924--------------$20
14 Number Pool--------$3003-------------$35
16 Number Pool--------$8008-------------$56
18 Number Pool--------$18,564-----------$84
20 Number Pool--------$38,760-----------$120
22 Number Pool--------$74,613-----------$165
24 Number Pool--------$134,596----------$220
26 Number Pool--------$230,230----------$286
28 Number Pool--------$376,740----------$364
30 Number Pool--------$593,775----------$455
32 Number Pool--------$906,192----------$560
34 Number Pool--------$1,344,904--------$680
36 Number Pool--------$1,947,792--------$816
38 Number Pool--------$2,760,681--------$969
40 Number Pool--------$3,838,380--------$1140
42 Number Pool--------$5,245,786--------$1330
44 Number Pool--------$7,059,052--------$1540
46 Number Pool--------$9,366,819--------$1771
48 Number Pool--------$12,271,512-------$2024

Building a Matrix Wheel in EL:

I'll show you how to do a 10 Number pool Matrix in EL with a 6/49 lotto, but you can use this

example and create up to a 48 Number Pool the same way. You can also create a Matrix with a

Pick 5 Lottery but I won't be covering this in this tutorial.

For a 10 Number Pool, we'll need 5 Pairs. Isn't it logical?...Read On...

Now although you can use Triplets which I will get into later, for the purpose of

demonstration and to be brief, we'll use Pairs for now.

Open Up Expert Lotto like you do every day I'm sure...LOL

Go to Package and then Select Generator. You want EL to generate all possible combinations in

your lotto so make sure to select "Generate maximum possible Number of Tickets" and click

"OK".

In a 6/49, it should generate 13,983,816 combinations exactly!

You will now move to the Statistics Tab at the bottom of Window. Once in the Statistics

window, checkmark only the "Winning Numbers" under "Calculate stats for..."and then click the

Calculate Stats Button. Wait until it calculated everything.

Once done, under "Show stats for:" select "Pairs"

Your next move is open to debate, however here is how I select pairs to be included in the matrix... I click order stats by "Due" pairs first to last so to get the pairs that are Due most in my lotto at the top.

Once the Pairs are in order of most Due, we will select 5 pairs to complete our 10 Number Pool Matrix, so here you will hold down your CTRL key while selecting your most Due Pairs.

IMPORTANT: You can only select pairs that have unique numbers in them. Let me give you an example:

Lets say we have

16-26
19-27
28-38
16-44
1-32

In the above example, we can select
16-26
19-27
28-38
...but we cannot select 16-44 because number 16 is already chosen in first spot among a pair so we need to select the next available pair which is 1-32 and you go on like this down your list until you have your 5 unique pairs. The colored chart will guide you as to which pair is available or not for your matrix as you move down the list.

Once you have your 5 pairs, you will let go your CTRL key and click on the "Filter Button in the lower Left.

A window will open up with your selection of Pairs.

You will select "At Least 3 to 3 in each Ticket". The reason being that 3 sets of 2 numbers(Pairs)=6 numbers in our Lotto 6/49 and Select the "Leave" button. Click Preview to check if you did everything right and it should yield 10 possible tickets!

You just reduced from 210 tickets down to 10 and here are the guarantees of this set of tickets...

First Prize or Jackpot is guaranteed if any 3 Pairs are correct.
With 2 Pairs correct, a winning number in any other pair guarantees 5 winning numbers.
With 2 pairs correct, 4 winning numbers are guaranteed.
With 1 Pair correct,and a winning number in any other 2 Pairs guarantees 4 winning numbers.

So as you can see, not only does a Matrix target tier prizes but zeroes in on that Jackpot in a major way!

Using Triplets:

If for some reason you rather use Triplets instead of Pairs, it will work too in a 6/49. The only difference is that when you'll select how to filter down this Matrix, you will select "At Least 2 to 2 in each ticket". Reason being that with triplets, there are 2 sets of 3 numbers=6 numbers.

Thats all for now folks, feel free to comment...and may the numbers be with you :-)

Hi Alcymart,
One of Serotic 's 6/6 Matrix Wheels which I was keen on used 1 key number, a group of about 4 to 6 pairs and then a group of about 10 numbers. The winning conditions were 1 key number, two of the pairs and any one number from the pairs or group to give a 6/6 guarantee.

I agree with the wheels but surely there must be a better way in selecting the pairs. I tried using your method and backtested 100 draws with not even a single success.

Any ideas??

Hi 2scoops,

Backtesting success depends on what pairs you chose. Obviously if you chose most due numbers and backtest, you are most likely to hit nothing. Selecting due pairs is for prediction of future draws, not past draws. Select pairs that have hit together in past draws and you should get a hit although I didn't try the backtesting function after selecting pairs. I wrote a quick tutorial and was brief... its up to all of you to do the deeper tests.

And also, it is the best way I found to select pairs in EL. If you have a better idea, let us hear it...

hello Alcymart and Jackpot Members

although i dunno anything about serotic wheels but i tried to breakdown how it works for example in pick 6 we have 15 pairs i use spreadsheet formula to calculated combin(6,3)=15

01 02 03 04 05 06

so the pairs are

01 = 01.02
02 = 01.03
03 = 01.04
04 = 01.05
05 = 01.06
06 = 02.03
07 = 02.04
08 = 02.05
09 = 02.06
10 = 03.04
11 = 03.05
12 = 03.06
13 = 04.05
14 = 04.06
15 = 05.06

since we have 15 pairs or 15 groups then we can create triplets which is guarantee #1 "First Prize is guranteed if any 3 pairs are correct. and we have combin(15,3)=455 it seem there are override numbers in pairs and actually only 15 combination that have JACKPOT numbers here are the list (the calculation based on pick 6 JACKPOT numbers)

01-10-15 = 01.02 - 03.04 - 05.06
01-11-14 = 01.02 - 03.05 - 04.06
01-12-13 = 01.02 - 03.06 - 04.05
02-07-15 = 01.03 - 02.04 - 05.06
02-08-14 = 01.03 - 02.05 - 04.06
02-09-13 = 01.03 - 02.06 - 04.05
03-06-15 = 01.04 - 02.03 - 05.06
03-08-12 = 01.04 - 02.05 - 03.06
03-09-11 = 01.04 - 02.06 - 03.05
04-06-14 = 01.05 - 02.03 - 04.06
04-07-12 = 01.05 - 02.04 - 03.06
04-09-10 = 01.05 - 02.06 - 03.04
05-06-13 = 01.06 - 02.03 - 04.05
05-07-11 = 01.06 - 02.04 - 03.05
05-08-10 = 01.06 - 02.05 - 03.04

in pick 6/49 we have 1176 pairs (combin(49,2)) and to track triplets (guarantee #1) we have 270,372,200 (combin(1176,3)) combination to track at this point we may lost in tracking triplets pairs(combination create a jackpot) because full wheel are 13,983,816 unfortunately i'm not mathematicians who knew how to calculate those combination lol

using most occurrence/hot or least occurrence(cold) only show one pairs cycles (either by month,week,date records) while it need two others pairs in order to get JACKPOT

good luck

Creating Fantasy 5 Wheels

Postby CARBOB » Sat Dec 26, 2009 2:24 pm

Does anyone have suggestions on creating wheels for play 5/xx type games. I'm interested in a wheel that uses all 36 numbers, what are the minimum number of lines that can be produced?

Hello CARBOB,
Try this and see if it is what you want.
Go to Generate Package.
Make sure that Advanced Mode is on-Button on bottom left.
Check - Generate Tickets with Random Numbers
In Ticket Numbers Range - set to 5 number lotto you are using, 1-36 etc..
Set Maximum Overlap to 1

You should probably get around 42 numbers or so.
I tried it in the Mega Mill with 36 numbers and no bonus and that is what I got in a couple of minutes. You might get a few more if you let it run.

I don't know if they are what you are looking for though.

If you set Maximum Overlap to 0 you will probably get about 7 tickets.
I did that for the Mega and got 11 tickets.
On a back-test, they got 0 - 5nums, 1 - 4num, and 15 - 3nums in 470 draws.
So they paid back about 4.93% not counting any stray bonus balls picked up.

Martin

...if you selected Use filter, and use Arithmetic Complexity, select 6, it should generate less tickets in package while produce more 2nd and 3rd winning tickets.

AC filter is one of my favorite, I hope Stan will include it v5 with stats table. For now you can use Back-test button to test this filter.

you have to restart EL after you installed, go to Preferences -> Plugins to see if the Arithmetic Complexity filter show in the list of filters.

Hello CARBOB,
Sometimes it works better to install manually from a different folder.
Try moving it from the Plugins folder and then reinstalling it manually.
Then restart and check to make sure it is checked in Preferences.
If not, then check it and restart.
Mine shows up under Filters menu just under Ticket Index.
