bug in match numbers filter?

Postby Toonio » Wed Mar 11, 2009 3:33 pm

Hi

when I choose 6 numbers (19, 21, 25, 32, 40 and 42) and set remove match 4 then I think that I filter out all combinations that include at least 4 selected number combinations.
After that I calculate package statistics and see that there is quads left behind:

19-21-25-32 (36 pc)
19-21-25-40 (39 pc)
19-21-25-42 (35 pc)

...

25-32-40-42 (0 pc)

can this problem be dealt?

Toonio,

I understand that by filtering the package with "Remove, Match 4" you remove some tickets, and the tickets removed contain "pure" quads, only those that you can remove with such filter setting.

Many quads still remain in the package. One of them is a part of original 6 number combination. Other belong to pentads that you have not removed, because it was simply impossible.

To remove all tickets with all possible quads from the original 6 number combination you have to use the following setting:

Remove,
Match 4 (it will remove tickets with pure quads),
Match 5 (it will remove the tickets with quads hidden in the pentads),
Match 6 (it will remove the original ticket).

Hmm, I think you're right :finger:

I'm trying to find the fastest way to eliminate all the quads that already occurred in the past. Via statistics table it's quite slow to filter (leave 15 to 15 all quads with "N/A" occurrences) in my 6/48 game. I found that match numbers is closest filter that can do the job for me. Now I must try with match 4,5 and 6 setting I guess...

This methos reduces my package (over 12M tx) by more than a half and I still have JP there remaining :P

Toonio,

Consider using the Match Winning Numbers filter. In this filter the result of filtering depends on the length of the game history. You can select all draws or only a part of the history, eg the oldest or latest 100 draws. See how this filter works. It is a slow filter, so it is better to use it for a prefiltered package.
