Better Export Features

Better Export Features

Postby Alcymart » Sun Jun 14, 2009 4:58 am

I wanted to export all draws of my Lotto and went about doing so, but to my surprise, here is just a few draws to show you what the output looked like:

2009 6 13 10 16 21 29 43 49 24
2009 6 10 10 13 15 22 23 38 2
2009 6 6 5 6 22 34 39 46 20
2009 6 3 9 19 34 37 40 43 48
2009 5 30 8 15 20 21 30 37 46
2009 5 27 1 4 5 8 24 43 9
2009 5 23 2 16 17 32 38 48 30
2009 5 20 2 18 22 30 38 41 48
2009 5 16 9 15 21 26 36 43 25

I know and you all can decypher this but not very clean output. I would of expected to the very least a clean output like so for the above:

2009/06/13 10 16 21 29 43 49 24
2009/06/10 10 13 15 22 23 38 02
2009/06/06 05 06 22 34 39 46 20
2009/06/03 09 19 34 37 40 43 48
2009/05/30 08 15 20 21 30 37 46
2009/05/27 01 04 05 08 24 43 09
2009/05/23 02 16 17 32 38 48 30
2009/05/20 02 18 22 30 38 41 48
2009/05/16 09 15 21 26 36 43 25

So this is my suggestion Stan. I would be happy with the output format above as a default output. Of course there is even better... a feature where we choose how to export it such as Date Format, spaces or comma's,hyphens between numbers or between date and 1st number...

The format above is pretty much universal apart from the Date, so I'll let you juggle with that...

Great,so it seems it was done only for 5/xx lottos since your output is nice Maryland. Not so for 6/xx lottos. You even have the day of the week although it messes up your output!

To all come out even and straight, Stan needs to put 2 digits for 1 to 9... aka: 01,02,03 etc... then everything will be straight and day of the week taken out of 5/xx lottos.

Why does this matter? Well because most of us are using text editors or excel to play around with numbers and not every text editor is refined enough to handle just any output. I use Boxer Text Editor which can handle anything but it requires me some major time to straighten things out. The columns need to be the same width and all...

go to winning numbers page, display the draws you want to export, press ctrl+a in the table, then ctrl+c, switch to your text editor, press ctrl+v
you'll get the same date format as in that table.
version 5 will support exports to excel xls files
