Java not Found

Java not Found

Postby Alcymart » Mon Jul 13, 2009 10:21 am

Ok, its been a while and thought, what a great idea to install latest EL, and decided to install it when I was greeted by a message "Java has not been found on your computer, do you want to download it?"

Now, of course I chose Yes, and then it directed me to the 32 bit install... I jumped to the Vista x64 Java install and installed it even though I was told I already had it installed. Ok, so EL is not installed and want to know how to get the latest version of EL (4.5.6 I think it is) installed on Vista Ultimate x64?

Hello Alcymart,
The problem is that EL is 32bit software.
Just go to Sun and download and install the 32bit version of Java.
It will install into Program Files (x32) and EL will be able to see it and run.
64bit Java installs into Program Files and EL can't find it.

Martin

Hello Alcymart,
Sorry, I forgot to tell you to install EL to the C: directory instead of Program Files.
Just tell EL to install to C:ExpertLotto when you install and you will not have problems as long as you also install the 32bit Java that I mentioned above.
Vista does not like you to write to Program Files (either one) so its hard to manually work on files etc.
