Ok Stan, when I got home yesterday, I download the BETA Value Predictor. Now, could you (or anybody) tell me how to load data into it and how to use it? Will I have to edit data or what? Thanks in advance!! Bobby

switch to winning numbers stats, select some/all rows with your mouse and press ctrl+c, then switch to the predictor page, click into the table and press ctrl+v to paste the data. the same applies for summary wn history table (you must display the sums or the differences only). you can load the data also from a text file, for example a csv file saved from ms excel.

I hate to sound like an idiot, but it's telling me to 'please check my settings' if I try to run a test. Are numbers only suppose to be in this table?

you must select a table column you want to predict and the column must contain numbers only (in all its rows)

Value Predictor Plug in vs Predictor button

Hi Stan,

what's the difference (if any) of using the value predictor plug-in as opposed to just clicking the "predict" button in the win history summary pages ?

Any advantage of using one over the other ?

the value predictor can be used on any (i.e. non-lottery) data, it also provides some additional output. but the prediction results should be the same.

Joe,

Thanks for your prompt respond. But as seen in the attached picture, when i go to the Summary Table, the predictor is still not there.

How do i know that i am using the "Jackpot Build"?

Hi kash,

The Value Predictor button is clearly visible in the right lower corner of your EL.

And if you do not know whether you dowloaded your EL from the general source or from the Jackpot link, go to Help --> About and see what EL build you have. If it is Jackpot you will see the word "Jackpot" in the latest version.

I tried the value predictor and I don't know hot to interpret the results - see below for StDev:

Trend prediction: Increase
Predicted value: N/A (value out of range: 22.49)
========================================================
Best pattern size: 3 (lowest MSE)
Best weight: 1.00
Matching pattern: [12.72 12.55 19.66] => 18.19
Marker: 872
Back-tests: 30
Mean Square Error: 18.243
Mean Absolute Percentage Error: 0.234
Valid trend predictions: 15 (50.0%)
5 best pattern sizes: Min=8.8, Max=22.5, Avg=14.3, StdDev=7.1, Increase=2, Decrease=3, Same=0

Trend prediction: Decrease
Predicted value: 9.33
========================================================
Best pattern size: 8 (most valid trend predictions)
Best weight: 1.00
Matching pattern: [20.79 15.11 15.78 18.56 15.66 11.81 11.41 18.23] => 9.31
Marker: 96
Back-tests: 30
Mean Square Error: 74.393
Mean Absolute Percentage Error: 0.410
Valid trend predictions: 24 (80.0%)
5 best pattern sizes: Min=8.8, Max=24.5, Avg=12.3, StdDev=6.8, Increase=1, Decrease=4, Same=0

Why do I get 2 trend predictions? Why is one saying Increase and the other one Decrease?!

Can someone shed a little bit of light on this?

Thanks a lot,

Laurentiu

there are two ways of predictions in the trend predictor. they differ in the way the end of your value sequence is compared with previous values in that sequence. one is based on the lowest mean square error, the other tries to back-test itself when choosing the matching pattern. as you can see they can lead to different prediction results
