Unlocking Key

I am having difficulty downloading the unlocking key. Firstly, I have downloaded the free version and purchased the hobby version (hopefully as starters) but when I try to open the licence key there is a couple of fast screen movements then nothing else. If it is downloaded to disk then all that appears on opening file is a bunch of gobbledegook with a window saying: "The file cannot be opened by the default program. It is either corrupted or it has an incorrect file type". Anyone able to get me out of this spiral?

you don't need to open the license file. just start expert lotto free edition, choose menu 'help - about', click button register. then in the new window that opens click the small button with the folder icon and browse the saved license file.
you can also just copy the license file to expert lotto's folder (usually 'c:program filesexpertlotto'). but please check that its file name is license.jar - some email applications change the file extension to .zip instead.
