Errors driving me nuts

Postby Bob1140 » Thu May 18, 2006 11:27 pm

I have kept acturate records of the Power Ball multi state drawings for years and just 75 drawings ago they changed from a 53 white ball to a 55 white ball drawing (I know those buggers keep trying to throw us off)

Well when I load the entire data base of wining numbers into EL I find errors in the data when using the stats package. i.e. in the ticket number table I select the last 75 drawings and I come up with a totally different data set then EL does. Anyone ever see this before?

Here is what I have per my recored vs. what EL says I have based on occurances of a number:

number prgm off by EL- says Actual
35 7 18 11
47 6 8 2
52 5 12 7
33 11 12 1
36 7 12 5
40 8 13 5
54 on 13 13
26 8 14 6
34 5 14 9
44 8 14 6
51 9 14 5
53 8 14 6
28 8 15 7

THis is just th efirst 13 numbers in the file but they are all off by quite a bit and that will change the percentages as well. Thanks for your help or comments. I'd be glad to send the file I am using if anyone is interested.

can you pls post which powerball game you play which stats parameter you're tracking?

also make sure that your settings for winning numbers selection match those in the statistics page...

WI Power Ball

Postby Bob1140 » Mon May 22, 2006 8:17 pm

I am playing the Multi State Power Ball which is shown as the wi.powerball in your selection table.

The stats that are off for me are not the Power Ball selections but the actual numbers as the chart I pasted in my first post says. The amount of times that the EL shows that a number has appeared is way off from my actual records. That's what is throwing me a "curve" and making me ask this question.

I did notice that the data that I am using is single digit data for numbers 1 -9 and was wondering it they should be posted as 01, or 05 instead of 1 and 5. Could that be what is making the difference?

hi Bob,

I think you calculated the statistic for both the Tickets in the Package and Winning numbers?

Please double check.
