Links To Most Recent Plugins and Current Build

I have a couple suggestions and questions. Maybe it has already been asked. I apologize for the repitition.

1. Can we place a Link or some kind of notice where the Main Menu of this Forum.

Back Overview Control Panel Memebers Search Statiistics Help

(Add Current Build Number and link to download) or even a "Download" Menu item.

2. Question: What is the difference between the Jackpot Build and the normal Build? Are they the same?? If they are different can we add a link for the most current Jackpot Build?

3. My last question is concerning Java Updates. When I receive a notice to upgrade Java (i.e. Java 6). When I install the upgrade does Expert Lotto also change to reflect the most current version?

Thank you,

Steve

it's already here:
http://www.expertlotto.com/en/download/beta.htm

2. Question: What is the difference between the Jackpot Build and the normal Build? Are they the same?? If they are different can we add a link for the most current Jackpot Build?

jackpot builds have some extra feature that are hidden in regular builds.
download link is available in the very first thread called 'rules' in jackpot section.

3. My last question is concerning Java Updates. When I receive a notice to upgrade Java (i.e. Java 6). When I install the upgrade does Expert Lotto also change to reflect the most current version?

all java updates are backwards compatible so expert lotto will run on any version of java since 1.4. java updates are really not necessary, you might get some slight performance and security improvements though

Thanks for the Explanation

Stan,

Thanks for your quick response.

Any possibility of having a "Downloads" in the main Menu of this Forum??

Thanks,

Steve

do you mean a separate forum section or a link in 'back overview control panel...'?

anyway, i think it would be better to use 'check for updates' in the application menu instead. i can modify it to look for latest beta versions as well

Why don't you just put these in your favorites like I do.

http://www.expertlotto.com/files/previe ... tlotto.jar

http://www.expertlotto.com/en/download/beta.htm

When Stan says there's a new build you know exactly where to go, be it beta or jackpot build.

Exactly Stan

hmm, that would mean messing with php code which i'm not so good with. i'd rather implement online update to latest beta versions in expert lotto application. that should be even more convenient and also solve upgrading problems for some users.

Hi Stan

I would like to suggest that you incorporate the Beta Build Number in the file name instead of just "expertlotto.jar" With all the revisions/updates etc it may be useful in the event a User wants to go back to a earlier version. just a thought.

Instead of messing with php code.

Any way to send alerts to registered users (via email) about Plugin additions/upgrades and Build Number upgrades?

Thanks,

Steve

Stan,

I can't understand the problem with this, I am not a computer guru, yet I can always find the latest version/build.

I agree with Maryland's post it is the same as what I do.

Hi Stan
count me in

If that's going to be the way of finding out about new builds instead of the forum, then count me in. If your still going to advise of new builds on the forum then I don't need a email alert.
