Ticket Generator

Ticket Generator

Postby Ophiuchus » Tue Mar 10, 2009 6:31 pm

Hey Stan ...

Exactly how long does it take for the ticket gnerator to run and you can save it once it has finished running so you can reuse it without running the ticket generator again ... Or do you need to run the ticket generator before a new filtering can take place .... Is there any particular Hardware that could make this run faster .... I am smoking two camels as I wait for this to complete ... :-)

well, it depends on the number of combinations it has to generate. all combinations for a 6/49 lottery take a few seconds on average machine.
keno-like lottery are a different matter, you'd need a couple of terra bytes of free disk space to generate all combinations.
but naturally, once generated you can save the package to a file and load that file into the package next time instead of using generator

A wrong setting for the ticket generator

Postby Ophiuchus » Tue Mar 10, 2009 11:09 pm

Something is wrong ... It seems to be taking all day ... And there are only 3,326,628 combinations or something like that ...

Ticket Generator better explanation ...

Postby Ophiuchus » Tue Mar 10, 2009 11:21 pm

a) Use the Ticket Generator to create random ticket with maximum overlap of
4 for all drawn numbers. Use this file for all your estimates. There
should be over 80 thousand tickets for a 6/49 lottery.

What happens when you do not select the random tickets ...

then you'll have a full wheel which will introduce a lot of 'alternate solutions' into your wn history simulations/estimates.
