Hi, Padawan:

I have uninstalled El and deleted all files of EL in my PC now. And saved my license and data file into the ducument. Next,

1) go to el website to download the "MS Windows Vista operating systems Download 11.0MB "; (I'm not sure that is this the setup as you said.) Just click on the EL icon that you just downloaded to start the install.
2) copy my license and data into the new el package in my pc.

3) download Joe's plugins into my el again.

4) download the latest BETA Version including JP Version into my el. Just download the JP version, the Vista OS version will already be 4.5.5.
5) create a shortcut button of el on the desktop.

Is the steps above correct? I'm looking forward to your instrucitons now.
Thanks.

This attachment is about the information on my screen when I clciked the shortcut button or EL 1 in the Bin foldr or Lib folder.

If my Java downloading is wrong? I'm not sure...

Why so many trouble in the downloading progress? How can I do that next?

The javaw should be in the java bin folder not the Expert lotto bin folder.

At this point I'm at a loss, you will need stan or someone else here that has Vista to help you get EL and java working.

Hi Lottoboy,

This is my advice to you.

1) Download the latest Java versions (version 6 update 14) for Windows Vista. Download 32-bit version size 15.50 MB and 64-bit version size 16.37 MB https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.en ... _Developer.

2) Close programs that use Java like EL and web browser.

3) Remove all installed Java versions on PC.

4) Install the 64-bit version first and start EL with the shortcut or .exe file with the icon 1 (the same way that Padawan described to you). If this don't work install the 32-bit version also, but don't remove the 64-bit version and then start EL the same way.

If none of the solutions above don't work try this link to verify that your Java installation is working http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml.
