Filter more than one set of differences per column

Filter more than one set of differences per column

Postby Red Devil » Sat Jul 01, 2006 12:43 am

Stan,

I want to use the WN history sums filter, I don't want to use every column but the columns I do use I want to use more than 1 set of differences.

For example lets say that I think:

Col 0 will go positive and I think it will go positive by either 6-10 or 21-25
AND
Col 2 will go negative by either 1-5 or 16-20
AND
Col 5 will go negative by either 6-10 or 21-25
AND
Col 9 will go positive by either 0-5 or 11-15
AND
Can I filter this by using either a compound filter and if so how would I go about it

Also if I wanted to play safe is there any way that I could filter for any 3 of the statements to be correct

Red Devil,

You have to use different compound filters to get the filter you want.

Create compound filter Col0 : Col 0 will go positive and I think it will go positive by either 6-10 or 21-25

Next create Create compound Col2 : Col 2 will go negative by either 1-5 or 16-20

Do the same for the other Columns.

The last step is to create a combined compound filter (eg. Combined) of the separate compound filters you created:
Combined =

Col0
AND
Col2
AND
Col5
AND
Col9
....

If you want to have any 3 of e.g. 5 column compound filters you have to create a Combined combined compound filter ; First you have to create the separate column compound filters.
Next step is to create the (triple) combined compound filters = 5!(2!*3!) = 10 combined compound filters.

The last Step is to create the Combined Combined compound filter;
(Col0 AND Col2 AND Col5) ---------> triple combined
OR
(Col0 AND Col2 AND Col9)
OR
(Col0 AND Col2 AND Col11)
.... etc.

Wn history filter

Postby 2scoops » Mon Jul 17, 2006 9:32 am

I was wondering if there is a easier way to try and filter the following:
I can with reasonable accuracy predict up or down, the problem however is that we tend to get 5numbers in the 10bracket, 4falls in the 20bracket and 3falls in the 35bracket :wand:

2Scoops,

You wil have to do something similar to Simon69's answer to my previous post.

As far as I can tell you will have to create a compound filter for 5 columns in the (10) bracket, another compound filter for the 4 columns in the (20) bracket and another for the 2 columns in the (35) bracket.

Finally create a compound filter including the previous 3 compound filters.

The problem as I see it, you will have to decide which columns are going to change by the amounts you specify. If you don't know then you will have to use all 11 columns in each filter and use the at least function in the WN history filter for each amount, (4, 5 then 2). I don't think that this will remove that many possible lines. However, I am sure Stan will put you on the right path.

Stan,

I was assuming he was referring to differences as brackets.

i see, in that case i think i've already suggested a solution to this problem in his other thread.
