Hi Jackpot Members,

Here I have tried "Matching the combination's Segments with latest result",

You can able to set Min and Max segments match with its previous one result,

if the latest result's segments is
2-2-2, 4-1-1, 3-1-2, 1-3-2, 1-3-2, 3-2-1, 2-3-1, 3-0-3, 3-1-2, 4-1-1, 4-2-0,

and the one combination's Segment is
5-0-1, 5-1-0, 4-1-1, 3-1-2, 4-1-1, 2-2-2, 4-0-2, 1-3-2, 4-1-1, 2-3-1, 3-2-1,

Here there is no match of combinations Segments with its latest Result,

Hope I am clear with this, if I am not or any modifications, please let me know

Thanks

Joe,

I was looking forward to see your newest filter, and I am quite happy with it when you made it available. Thank you!

To me it is simply Last Draw Segment Patterns Repeated in the same Columns filter. This name tells everything about this filter, however, it is probably too long to use in the software.

It is quite easy to prepare basic statistics for each of your filter, using Back-test function.

For my 6/45 game most commonly there are no repeats of segment patterns (37.76% of passed draws).

1 repeat occurred in 35.79% of passed draws.
2 repeats in 18.07% of passed draws.
3 repeats in 4.28%.
4 repeats in 1.03%.
5 to 11 repeats - each below 1%

Practical settings: Leave, from 0 to 1, or 0 to 2, or 0 to 3.

With Leave 0 to 1 2,415,968 tickets can be filtered out from 8,145,060.

I will think again about the logic for cluster filter, but it is a difficult concept to implement and there is no certainty that I would achieve practical results.

Best Regards

Jerzy

I'm trying to figure out what this filter is looking at.
What was your segment settings? If I back-test min 0, max 3, I get 0.20% out of 986 past drawings, no matter what I have the first and second segment settings at. At segment settings at 6/12 I get 1.32% at min/max set to 0/20. I can achieve a 35.29% at 6/12, with min/max set at 0/26.

What are we trying to achieve with this filter?

PadawanLotto,

The Joe's explanation tells me that the Segment Repeats with Previous One filter deals with the repeats of the last draw segment patterns in the same columns. In the example that Joe is giving us, you can notice the repeats of the segment patterns in other columns, which is not within the scope of this filter. Actually, he is not telling us, how this filter works, but he is telling us how this filter does not work. Unfortunately, with this approach his idea might be difficult to conceptualize.

By segment pattern I understand the count of winning numbers within all 3 segments within a column (e.g. 5-1-1, 3-2-1, 6-0-0).

Again, this filter is for the repeats of the segment patterns from the last draw within the same columns.

There could be from 0 (no repeats) to 11 repeats of the segment patterns(repeats in all columns).

Use the Back-test function of this filter to find out how many segment patterns have repeated in the same columns in the game history. This way (using pen and paper) you can create a satisfactory or even a quite good substitute of the statistics (which you need).

The statistics change after each draw, as each draw contributes to the statistics.

Currently, for my game (6/45 lotto) there are the following statistics:

Min 0 max 0 = 37.99%
Min 0 Max 1 = 73.56%
Min 0 Max 2 = 91.65%
Min 0 Max 3 = 95.91%
Min 0 Max 4 = 96.93%
Min 0 Max 5 = 97.53%
Min 0 Max 6 = 98.04%
Min 0 Max 7 = 98.55%
Min 0 Max 8 = 98.72%
Min 0 Max 9 = 99.23%
Min 0 Max 10 = 99.57%
Min 0 Max 11 = 100.00%
Min 1 Max 11 = 62.01%
Min 1 Max 1 = 35.60%
Min 2 Max 2 = 18.06%

On the basis of this statistics, which is for my game only, the right setting for this filter could be (0 - 1) or (0 - 2) or (0 - 3), depending on my strategy.

What are the possible settings of this filter for your game?

Let me know whether this explanation is clear to you or not. It would be unacceptable to me if you did not know how this filter works even after my explanation.

Best Regards

Jerzy

Settings are Seg1 checked, Count 0 to 1, 1st seg 6, 2nd seg 12. No matter what the min and max is set at it always back-tests to 100%.

I don't know what you mean by (What are the possible settings for your game?). The game is Rolling Cash 5, 5/39, 986 past drawings.

Hi Jerzy

PadawanLotto is not alone, I too don,t understand this filter. Let's be clear here. I'm refering to the new plug-in of Joe which was requested by Carbob the file name is "SingleSeg123RepeatsAnyColWithPrev1.jar"and
when you run it in the program its name is "Match Single Segment123 At Any Column With Prev 1".

I.ve ask an explanation about this in another thread and nobody responded. Let me quote your first respond to this thread "I am afraid that the SingleSeg123RepeatsAnyColWithPrev1 works entirely incorrectly." and 9 hours later you posted another respond and I quote "I am sorry. I made a mistake when I started working with this new filter.
The filter works OK."

You seem to know this filter now, can you give us an example or explanation about this filter? I'm sure other Jackpot members are anxious to know. Treat this explanation as your christmas gift to all of us.

Thanks,
Elpidio

Match Single Segment 123

PadawanLotto and Elpidio,

Padawan, I thought that you were looking for information on the Segment Repeats with Previous One filter and I described that filter. I'm sorry.

The Match Single Segment 123 filter works correctly with 5/xx and 6/xx games, and I tested it with the Australian Saturday Lotto and Rolling Cash 5 OH.

This filter is about matching the occurrences of winning numbers in the single segments in the preceding two draws.

To find a number of matches for a segment (the 1st, 2nd or 3rd segment), open the Summary Table, Segments, and analyze two lines of data which precede a given draw.

For example, Rolling Cash 5 OH:

06/09/05 2-2-1, 4-0-1, 3-1-1, 3-0-2, 5-0-0, 1-2-2, 3-2-0, 3-0-2, 3-1-1, 1-2-2, 1-3-1
06/10/05 1-2-2, 4-1-0, 5-0-0, 3-1-1, 3-0-2, 2-2-1, 3-1-1, 4-1-0, 2-2-1, 2-3-0, 2-2-1
06/11/05 n/a, n/a, n/a, n/a, n/a, n/a, n/a, n/a, n/a, n/a, n/a

The occurrences of winning numbers in the 1st segments (digits from 5 to 0):

For 06/09/05: 5 = 1x, 4 = 1x, 3 = 5x, 2 = 1x, 1 = 3x, 0 = 0x
For 06/10/05: 5 = 1x, 4 = 2x, 3 = 3x, 2 = 4x, 1 = 1x, 0 = 0x

How do these occurrences match?

For 5 winning numbers in the 1st segments: 1 match
For 4 winning numbers 1 match,
For 3 winning numbers 3 matches,
For 2 winning numbers 1 match,
For 1 winning number 1 match.

Together there are 7 matches for the 1st segments.

Open the filter, select the checkbox for the 1st segment and enter Min 7 Max 7, Count Min 1 Max 1, click Leave and Back-test.

The filter will check how the match 7 parameter performed in the history of your game, and the 06/11/05 draw result (15, 18 26, 37,39) will be passed by the filter.

If you want to filter 3 segments at the same time, enter Count Min 3 Max 3 (not Min 0 Max 3). And of course three checkboxes for the segments should be selected.

This filter, comparing with others, works slow, and experimenting with the parameters requires a lot of time. But eventually you will find the most useful settings for your game.

Settings for my game:

Seg. 1: 4 - 10 matches, 98.30% of passed jackpots covered,
Seg. 2: 4 - 10 matches, 98.55% of passed jackpots covered,
Seg. 3: 4 - 10 matches, 97.61% of passed jackpots covered.
All 3 segments together (each 4 - 10 matches): 95.74% of passed jackpots covered.

Best Regards

Jerzy

Hi Jerzy,

That's a nice belated christmas present for all of us and it can help us
reduce more of the package combos.

Thanks again for the help.

Thanks Jerzy, nice explanation.
One of the things I find confusing though is a filter being coalled one thing here and haveing a different name when loaded into EL. Example, Segment Repeats with Previous One aka Match Single Segment At Any Column With Prev 1. I've been reading through the past posts and I find that there seems to be a lack of explanation of how the plugins work or how to use them. You can have a top quality tool that is totally usless if you don't know what it does or how to use it.

Thanks again,
Padawan

Joe/Jerzy/Stan,

Happy New Year to All!.

I made a suggestion for formal documentation for the plugins under my last thread " New Developments":

http://www.expertlotto.com/en/forum/for ... ead&id=762

It appears we will continue to cover old ground as in this thread, which can be solved by the proposed quality control procedure mentioned. We can effectively extract then enhance the forum examples by putting them in one place a "plugin document", this would assist end users not having to search forum threads for explanations and also frees up the board for new ideas.

The final help document can be enhanced, tested and developed for all grades of expert lotto players. When maturity is reached at final build these working documents can be integrated into the main EL help file with minimal effort. I believe this is the clever way to ensure a cohesive and collaborative user community quality control procedure. This is not to say expert lotto is not already excellent, it simply formalizes the migration path.

I would very much like to hear everybody's opinion on this proposal.

Best Regards
Midas

Padawan,

Filters' names create a problem. You can even have an impression that complicated names work as a kind of encryption in order to prevent people from using the filter without authority.

However, I know that some existing names are only provisional and I believe that they will be changed in the future. Finding the right names for filters could be difficult.

To notice the differences between the filters, to identify them, and use them in the meaningful way, I translate, or try to translate, their names into descriptive, easy to understand, expressions. It means I am trying to find my own name for each filter.

Best Regards

Jerzy

Midas,

I agree. There should be a special thread for filter plugins, for information on the basic funtion of the filters and on the best ways of using them as well. It is necessary.

People are limited on time. Nobody can do everything. But I believe that all active members could contribute.

Best Regards

Jerzy
