Joe,

I am sorry. I made a mistake when I started working with this new filter.

The filter works OK.

Do we have a segment filter which looks for matches of the same segments in the same columns and counts how many times these matches occured in all 11 columns?

Jerzy

Thank you Carbob.

We have many segment filters and that's good. The differences between them might be difficult to notice, but should be clearly understood.

I need to review and compare all filters.

Jerzy

Hi Joe and CARBOB,

Kindly help me on this new filter "Match Single Segment123 At Any Column
With Prev 1". I can't find the thread that explains its usage completely.

Thanks

Single Segment 123 At Any Column With Prev 1

I downloaded this plugin that was posted on 12/17/07 and have just now started working with it and I found that Seg3's Min is linked to Seg2's Max. If Seg2's Max is set to 0 and I set Seg3"s Min to 1, Seg2's Max changes to 1 and so on.

Seg3 can be set to Min 11 and Max 0, if you don't set Seg3"s Max to the correct setting Seg3's results are non-functional.

Just an observation.

Single Segment 123 At Any Column With Prev 1

Padawan,

I confirm your findings.

Before you reported this problem, I experimented with the single segment 1 and with all 3 segments together. I was able to set the number of matches to the required value. And when I back-tested the filter against known drawings, it seemed to work correctly.

Initially I did not check thoroughly the function of all spinbuttons. But I noticed that the spinbuttons for Seg3 worked independently from each other, and Min could be set to a value Higher than Max. I did not consider this important, but rather a cosmetic problem. What really matters, is the setting which can be entered, and it can.

Increasing the value of Seg3 min from 0 to 11 increases also the value of Seg2 Max to 11. Decreasing Seg2 Max from 11 to 0 decreases also Seg3 Min to 0. But increasing the value of Seg2 from 0 to 11 has no effect on Seg3 Min. Initially I did not see this defect.

I believe that Joe would fix these errors and it would not be difficult.

Best Regards

Jerzy

i supposed it'd be fair if the person who asked joe to write a new filter plugin would provide at least a short filter description explaining how it works. it seems to me that it's only joe and the author filter's idea are the only persons fully understanding its logic...

Stan,

Single Segment 123 At Any Column With Prev 1 was probably Joe's idea.

I described the logic of this filter in the thread Repeated Segment at position to its previous ONE result, page 1, on 01/01/2008, because some our members were intersted in it.
