EL5 won't start

Hello Stan,
I decided to post here because others might have this problem.
I got a message that a new version of Java runtime was available to install.
I installed and my computer would not reboot. It stopped at the welcome sign.
I am using Vista 64.
I had to do a system restore.
Now EL5, and EL5 Dev will Not start.
I get the startup circle, but nothing comes up.
EL4 will start.
I checked the path under properties and reapplied it.
I ran a cleaner program.
I tried going to the EL directories and starting from the exe. files directly.
I would Hate to have to reinstall if I don't have to.
Anything that I can try?
Is this a License problem?

OK I fixed this problem.
Java had corrupted itself on install And corrupted the version it was updating.
I downloaded Java instead of using its automatic install and reinstalled.
EL5 is working now.
