Expert Lotto in the cloud?

Expert Lotto in the cloud?

Postby stan » Fri Aug 15, 2014 12:05 pm

Would anyone be interested in 'cloud' version of Expert Lotto? Some filtering tasks are very time consuming and unless you have very fast PC it can take several hours to finish some filtering or analyzer task. There are many companies offering cloud computing at very low prices (2 cents per CPU per hour) - Amazon, Google, Microsoft and many others.

I could create a special version of Expert Lotto that would run in a cloud environment. You'd then upload tasks you want to compute and get your results by email (for example, other setups are possible as well).

Is anyone interested in such service? (And willing to pay for it?:)

hi Stan
It's not a feature that I would use myself, as I am very happy with the present set up. Kindest regards :D

Hi Stan
It's not a feature that I would use myself, I recently bought a powerful workstation computer 12 core with 64gb of ram
that does everything I could ever want .Interesting concept though and did I read correctly, one would get results in email?
Seems like everything is going to the cloud even my beloved Photoshop.

That's one of the options. It could be also directly integrated into the desktop version of Expert Lotto or there could be some web interface to upload your tasks and retrieve the results.

Hi Green Baron

Just wondering where you got your new workstation from? What make is it (if any) and are you happy with it?

I am thinking of upgrading my desktop and have been looking around at options.

Cheers

Hi Stan,
Quite happy for NOT going to the cloud !!! As much as it is a time consuming for analysing our lotteries, I guess
it is quite a challenge using EL.

That would mean a total rewrite of the whole application.
But there could be a relatively simple Android app that would work as a frontend to the cloud version of Expert Lotto....
