File filters

File filters

a quick poll - expert lotto has a concept of 'file filters'. it means almost any filter can be applied to a previously saved file or wheel and filtered tickets are then written to the package.

this features was carried over from the ancient days of "expert lotto version 1.0" when it was costly to allocate hundred megabytes of disk space for a full wheel. the software was then distributed on a cd with some example full wheels. so users could use the file filters to load filtered wheels into the package.

since the ticket generator now supports filters as well, there's not many reasons to keep the file filters in version 4.1 - i think.

what's your opinion on this? do you use file filters regularly?

I don't use the file filters myself now that we have compound filters.

just to make myself clear - i'm not talking about the 'match file filter'. this filter is useful and i'm not going to remove it.

i'm thinking of removing the whole 'file filters' sub-menu in filters menu as it would make the filters code maintenance a bit easier.
but it's not a big deal either if anybody wants to keep using the file filters. ;-)
