group filters

Hi Stan & everyone else,

You have 4 groups of numbers thus:-

3, 7, 17, 20, 28, 33, 37 (group 1)

1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 (group 2)

11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19 (group 3)

21, 22, 23, 24, 25,26,27, 29,30 (group 4)

From the above I would like to generate the minimum amount of tickets possible with each ticket to have any two numbers from group 1, any 1 number from group 2, any one number from group 3, any two numbers from group 4. (in this case I will be using it for pick 6, thus 6 numbers in each ticket). I would like to know the most efficient way to do this, & if it is possible to do so with the present Expert Lotto set up. Please note that not all the numbers are consecutive (e.g. in group 2 three & seven are purposely missing). I looked at using the group filter, but this seems to only cater for consecutive numbers within groups??
I look forward to your reply. Many thanks for your help. Niceguy

i would use 'match numbers filter' for each group of numbers and set option 'match x' accordingly.

I tried that Stan, but couldn't get it to work properly. What I did was I generated the max amount of tickets with the ticket generator, & then filtered each group, one at a time until I got to group 4. However, what seems to happen is that by the time you get to group 4 some of the numbers from this group have been removed by the earlier filtering. Maybe I am going about this incorrectly??? The number groups filter is very close to what I need to achieve this, accept I need to be able to select the numbers in each group (max of 10 numbers), & not have all the numbers from each group included. Just wondering if it would be at all possible to modify the number groups filter so that you can actually select the numbers you want in each group?? It's just that I have noticed that in the New Zealand lotto very rarely are more two numbers repeated from last weeek (thus group 1 has 6 numbers plus a bonus, a total of 7 numbers in it, ) and the remaining groups , 1 to 10, 11 to 20, 21 to 30, & 31 to 40, very rarley have any more that 3 numbers in them. So I thought that by filtering each group accordingly, it would be a good way to eliminate thousands of tickets, without elinating the big one. Then continue further filtering after that. I am sure that this system could be adapted to other lotto systems (eg 5 numbers from 45 numbers etc) Thanks for your time Stan I reallt appreciate it.

i tried your example and i got 63936 tickets that match your settings.
filtering the first three groups should not remove any numbers from the last group unless those groups overlap.

Thanks for that Stan. Not sure what happened to my previous attempts, but it seems to be working fine now. Once again many thanks for your time.
