EL forum very slow lately?

Postby laurontario » Wed Mar 12, 2008 7:07 pm

Is the EL forum very slow these days - I mean, when browsing, loading a page? Did anyone else experience this? I noticed it both from home and work.

A few weeks ago I had some problems but I did a spyware sweep and haven't had any problems since.

Test your internet connection using this Link. If your speed is not up to par then communicate with your ISP. Other than that the forum is running smoothly.

Here are my results:

Last Result:
Download Speed: 11246 kbps (1405.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 23347 kbps (2918.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

I am surprised but all other sites are loading OK, only for this one I have to wait quite a bit until I open a thread.

i'm afraid i won't be able to help with this one. expert lotto's web hosting company is based in czech rep., so are their dns and web servers.
i don't suppose you're using any web proxy?
can you try connecting from your friend's pc who has a different internet provider?

Those are great speeds at your company Laurontario!

Sysp34~ Laurontario's company is probably connected on a direct backbone connection with a redundant T3 line permanently linked to a triple-redundant national backbone. That is how some get speeds like that. Also, I2 (Internet 2) which is in operation via a university system is getting the system ready for roll out in the near future which will make Laurontario's speeds look very weak by comparison.

For more info on I2 and their land record speed click here.

I access the forum from home too - different provider, of course - but still the same.
This is odd... it seems to load faster now! On the other hand, there are less users on the system and the speed went up:

Last Result:
Download Speed: 12434 kbps (1554.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 27468 kbps (3433.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
