pls remember that you need to explicitly assign extra memory to expert lotto with a command line switch.
on the other hand, giving too much memory to expert lotto (e.g. more than 1gb) means that the java runtime will have to spend many more cycles garbage collecting unused memory...

think i found solution??????????????

multithreading.filter=true
filter.ticketbatch.size=1000
multithreading.filter.threads=4

did this while el still running (creating sim file , did not want to stop)
have noticed some change in windows task manager , other cores peeking with drops of main core thats working ,cpu fluctuacting 25- 28%

you need to restart expert lotto after changing multithreading properties

i have restarted e.l with theses settings

multithreading.filter=true
multithreading.filter.threads=4
filter.ticketbatch.size=5000

i have three e.l running simulation back tests and a movie playing , and am still only using about 80% cpu . how can i get 80% cpu from just one e.l?

ok got it sorted, used a filter that worked harder and dropped back to three cores .runs at about 75% cpu

alland what kind os that you use is it x64 or x32

if x32 some expert said the os only use 3 Gb and if x64 it will be unlocked the memory restriction although this tweaking

multithreading.filter=true
filter.ticketbatch.size=1000
multithreading.filter.threads=4

will help also with

it is X32 and you are right , only recognizes bit over 3gb. if i go to vista i can get 8gb

multithreading.filter=true
filter.ticketbatch.size=1000
multithreading.filter.threads=4

the mutilthreading filter threads is easily viewable and changeable though i leave at 3 , to look after resources,unless i am home alone which is not very often, rare!!!
i have not seen noticable change with ticket batch size, can you enlighten me? i have noticed e.l crunches about 25,000 tickets per second,

how do go about tweaking xms?

thanks

yes, 32bit operating system can use a little bit over 3GB of ram memory (the rest is dedicated to video ram, cpu registers etc)
64bit operating system has the limit MUCH higher
